WINTER BLAST: Snow, Ice Blanket Central Ohio Again

COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- Yet another winter blast wreaked havoc on central Ohio roads Wednesday morning, closing schools and delaying morning commutes.

Snow levels reached as high as eight inches in the area, while ice as much as a quarter-of-an-inch thick covered vehicles, roads, and sidewalks, increasing the danger for workers and students who were forced to venture outside.

Several crashes were reported on roads and highways on Wednesday morning, and many vehicles became stuck in heavy snow, however, no injuries or lengthy highway closures resulted from any of the accidents.

Most of the snow expected to blanket central Ohio had already fallen by the time drivers hit the roads during the morning rush hour, and a winter storm warning in effect in the area since Tuesday afternoon was set to expire at 10 a.m.
