OSU Students Stuck in Snow

COLUMBUS (Adam Slinger) Several students complained that The Ohio State University was still open on Wednesday after student parking spaces were covered in snow.

"A lot of people have been struggling [to park]," said senior Dean Abdulrahim.

The University released this statement to ABC6/FOX28:

"CampusParc crews have been focusing on snow removal in surface parking lots and on rooftops of garages. Crews will remain on campus as long as necessary treating roads, sidewalks, parking lots and removing snow. We do continue to urge everyone to use caution as they would in any situation involving winter weather and significant precipitation."

CampusParc is the company charged with operating the parking garages and lots on campus. The company had not yet returned a call made by ABC6/FOX28 as of Wednesday evening.

ABC6/FOX28 spotted several student drivers needing assistance in slippery parking spaces.

"They need to plow," said Abdulrahim.

Students admit that a lot of snow fell in a short amount of time, and that it is challenging for plow truck drivers to clear all the spaces. However, they insist that the spaces should be fairly clear if school is in session.

"If its been done before, I dont see what the problem is," Abdulrahim said.
