"Food of Love Day” was celebrated on Sunday by Chinese-American community organizations and restaurants nationwide.

Members of Columbus Chinese American Community Organization joined people across the country in delivering hot meals to local charities and shelters, hoping to spread love through food.

Teams in Columbus delivered 240 meals on Sunday.

Grace Leng, is the Program Director for the organization. She said this effort is part of an ongoing response to help the people hit hardest by the COVID-19 crisis.

“Especially for Chinese Americans, that’s very important to team up with all the fellow Americans to rise up to the challenge faced by the country to everybody to contribute to help. We are all in this together so together we will prevail,” Leng said.

Her team set a goal to deliver 5,000 meals to shelters, soup kitchens, and food banks throughout May.
