November unemployment saw decline in Ohio

The Ohio unemployment rate saw a drop in November, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODFS) shared Friday.

The 5.7% unemployment rate last month was down from 6.1% in October. ODJFS said employment increased by 29,400 over the course of the month to 5,247,100 statewide.

The number of unemployed Ohioans dropped to 324,000, down from 356,000 in October. ODJFS shared Thursday that Ohio residents filed 274,658 continued jobless claims last week.

Initial jobless claims have showed an increase in unemployment for the first weeks of December. More details on December's unemployment situation will be released by ODJFS next month.
