The puppies, named "Adele" and "Garin" will live and train with a staff member from the department's Canine District for a year, officials explained on a Facebook page for the Arizona Department of Public Safety. After the training, the puppies will be assigned a handler to start their tasks.
"Depending on each dog’s temperament and strengths, they could work in drug detection, sniff out explosives, hit the road on patrol duty, or serve as dual-purpose canines. Only time will tell!" according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The puppies are the youngest the department has ever received, at only nine weeks old.
