WASHINGTON (SBG) — Hershey's switched up their Kisses Holiday commercial this year, causing outrage from those who viewed the original ad as a Holiday tradition.
"SUCKS....Way to RUIN a ONCE great ad!!! How 2020 can you get?" one user wrote on YouTube.
"No Hersheys for us this year!!!!" another user wrote.
The new commercial, titled "Bells to Blossoms," starts off with the traditional bells ringing to the tune of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" when suddenly a little girl's hand reaches in and grabs one of the Kisses. The commercial then switches to a scene of a father and daughter making peanut butter blossom cookies with Hershey's Kisses.
Following the backlash to the new commercial, Hershey's announced they will be airing both the original commercial and the new one.
The original commercial, titled "We Wish You Merry Christmas," first aired in 1989.
