COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- A Columbus chiropractor is facing multiple charges after police said he touched at least two patients inappropriately.

Dr. Ryan D. Smith has been charged with 23 counts of misdemeanor sexual imposition for several reported incidents that happened between January and March of 2017 at his office in the 4200 block of North High Street.

According to the criminal complaint, one victim told police that Smith positioned himself in such a manner during appointments that caused her to make contact with his penis through his instructed movements as well as him pressing his genitals against her.

The first alleged instance happened on January 31, 2017, where Smith allegedly told the victim to rotate her body while he was behind her. That movement caused her to make contact with his penis, which the victim said happened twice during that session.

During 10 other visits, the victim told police that Smith asked her do a similar motion when he pressed his genitals against her hand, then directed her to rotate her shoulder. He then allegedly touched her breast.

Police said another victim reported Smith had touched her in a similar way on March 7, 2017.

The victims ages are unknown.

The first victim filed a complaint with the Ohio State Chiropractic Board in August of 2017, which placed him on probation in November.

ABC 6/FOX 28 is working to gather more details on this developing story.
