COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus City Council passed a resolution Monday urging residents to vote for Issue 10 this November. Issue 10 is for the program known as Senior Options.
It includes a host of services for seniors including Meals on Wheels, transportation, and home health aides.
Councilmember Lourdes Barroso de Padilla said it's more cost-effective to help seniors stay at home. She said everyone knows someone who is affected by the issue.
“They see that with their aging parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, that neighbor that you lived next to forever and we want to care for them," she said.
Issue 10 is a $50 million renewal levy and council members said it will not cost homeowners any more money.
