Columbus meat shop closes its doors after serving community for 6 decades

    Meat Packers Outlet in downtown Columbus announced it is closing its doors after 61 years of business.

    "After 61 years of serving the city of Columbus we are sorry to say we have closed our doors as of January 22, 2019. Thank you for your patronage over the years," the store told its customers on Facebook.

    The store has been open since 1957 at its South 5th Street location downtown.

    No word on what caused the shop's sudden closure.
