The second annual "Conquering the Runway" fashion show was held in Westerville on Sunday. The event benefits children battling congenital heart disease in Columbus.

Thirty young survivors of heart disease like Jaxson Burks walked the runway, and left their fears and worries behind as they proudly conquer the disease.

"This event helps us kind of connect with other heart families," said Serena Burks, mother of Jaxson Burks.

The fashion show served as an opportunity for the kids and their families to just let loose.

"It's a really good support system, especially when you have a kiddo who spends a lot of time in the hospital," said Serena.

Proceeds raised during the event go directly to programs for families of kids dealing with heart disease. The event also serves as a way to have fun, while still making a difference in the process.
