Delaware County Sheriff's K-9 Lacy enjoys ice cream at her retirement party
K-9 Lacy enjoyed her final moments with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office by eating ice cream.
Lacy spent most of her days with the sheriff's office with her partner, and handler, Deputy Gaines.
Some of the highlight's of Lacy's career include helping in six FBI investigations throughout the United States.
In another situation, The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations called upon Lacy and Deputy Gaines to locate a serial killer. In another case for the same bureau, K-9 Lacy and Deputy Gaines also helped find a missing child!
Due to medical problems including a heart murmur and hip problems, she could no longer serve the sheriff's office. But, the 9-year-old bloodhound will be a loving pet to someone soon.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office also thanks the founders of 832 K-9's Deputy Dogs, a foundation that trains bloodhounds and supports law enforcement throughout the United States.
