Deputies say woman beaten, sexually assaulted and pushed off a cliff in Meigs County, Ohio
The Meigs County Sheriff's Office said three people are facing charges after a woman was beaten, raped and thrown off a cliff.
Marissa Starcher, 34, of Pomeroy, Brooke Watson, 29 and Nathan Grimm, 31, of Portland were charged with kidnapping, rape, and attempted murder, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Deputies said the victim showed up at a home on Curtis Hollow Road in the Olive township on Wednesday. Deputies said the woman was beaten and bleeding. She was taken to a hospital in Huntington for treatment.
Deputies began an investigation and determined the victim was at a home on Bald Knob Stiversville Road in the Longbottom area. Deputies said the suspects assaulted the victim over alleged missing money the victim was accused of taking. The victim was punched and beaten with a ball bat. Deputies said the victim's hair was pulled out and she was sexually assaulted.
Deputies said the victim was blindfolded, placed in a car and driven to Forked Run Lake where she was shoved over a cliff. The victim sustained a severe injury to her arm in the fall.
All three suspects were arrested and additional charges may follow.
