COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State defensive end and All-Big Ten player Mike Kudla has passed away unexpectedly on Sunday at the age of 34. Kudla former Alma Mater Highland Schools made the announcement on their Facebook page.
Kudla was apart of the 2002 National Championship team, a two-time Big Ten Champion, First Team All-Big Ten player. He was also named the 2005 defensive MVP at Ohio State.
After his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he began a career in insurance and risk management.
In 2012, Kudla was named Managing Director of Development for the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University.
Kudla ranks 14th in Ohio State history for career sacks.
