Marion Police investigating attempting abduction of two elementary students

Marion Police Department is investigating a possible attempted abduction of two elementary students Thursday morning.

The attempted abduction was reported just before 8:00 a.m. in the area of Bradford and Franklin Streets. Police say a white man wearing a black hat, black jacket approached two students near the intersection in a black SUV. The suspect pulled up and motioned for the children to come over to his vehicle.

Police say one child immediately left the area. The suspect reportedly got out of his vehicle and approached the other child who back up until they bumped into a house, and fled the area.

Marion City Schools sent out the information to parents to notify them of the incident.
