JACKSON, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — The Jackson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on State Route 93 involving an ambulance that happened in Jackson County Friday evening.
Just before 6:45 p.m., a Portsmouth Ambulance Services driver Brian Webb, 28, and passenger Jennifer Cross, 43, were responding to an emergency call southbound on State Route 93.
Webb's vehicle was driving with emergency lights and sirens on when Steven Dunnavant, 22, who was traveling northbound, went left of the centerline and was hit by the ambulance.
Cross was taken to Holzer Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Webb and Dunnavant were also taken to Holzer with non-life threatening injuries and later released.
Cross and Dunnuavant weren't wearing seat belts and Webb was during the crash. Alcohol and drugs aren't believed to be a factor in the accident.
No charges have been filed.
