Ohio State issues public safety after rape reported near campus

Ohio State University has issued a public safety notice after a woman reported being sexually assaulted Saturday morning.

A female student told the Ohio State University Police Department that around 12:30 a.m. she walking along Neil Avenue near the 9th Avenue Garage when she was approached by an unknown male.

The woman said the suspect displayed a gun and told her to come with him. The suspect forced the woman to walk-off campus where he used a knife to threaten her prior to the sexual assault outside a nearby residence.

The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as white male, short with a slim build and short buzzed hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt featuring the Michael Jordan Jumpman graphic on the front of the shirt.
