Ohio State Police: Search continues for sex assault suspect

Spokespersons at the Ohio State University said they continue to search for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a female student off-campus just before two Saturday morning.

Police say the woman was walking near Neil Avenue and the Ninth Avenue garage when she was approached by a man who showed her a gun and ordered her to walk with him.

They said he allegedly then showed a knife before sexually assaulting her outside a nearby residence, then fled on foot.

News of the crime spread fast after a safety alert was sent to students and staff.

"It's definitely scary, I say definitely travel in groups and carry pepper spray around just to be prepared if you need to be" said OSU graduate student Mary Kenney.

Police described the suspect as a white male, who's short and slim with a short buzzed haircut.

They said he was wearing a white t-shirt with the Michael Jordan Jumpman graphic on the front.

"It's right around the corner from our house, it's kind of shocking" said OSU graduate student Kaitlin Dinkelacker.
