Man killed in east Columbus shooting

    Columbus Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened on the city's east side Monday evening.

    Officers responded to the 34000 block of Bexvie Avenue for a reported burglary around 6:20 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside a Toyota. The victim was taken to Grand Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

    Police say the shooting may have been the result of a home invasion in the 1700 block of Zettler Road and the victim may have exchanged gunfire with the suspect.

    The victim was later identified as 30-year-old Larry Scott Knapp Jr. Police have yet to release any suspect info.

    It's the city's 58th homicide of the year.
