Columbus Police are searching for man accused of taking thousands from an elderly couple and never doing the work he was paid for.

Around March 2016, police say Hugh B. Good requested $9,200 up front from an elderly couple for a home renovation project. The couple says after paying, he never started the work.

After numerous tries to get their money back around February 2017, Good gave them a personal check that was drawn on his account that he closed a year earlier, police say. Good ignored recent attempts from the victims asking to be paid back, police say.

Good is described as black, 49, 6 foot, 200 pounds with brown hair and eyes, according to police.

Anyone who knows any information is asked to call Columbus Police or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
