The rain that was pouring over Central Ohio Wednesday turned to snow overnight.

As temperatures dipped below freezing, several roads and sidewalks turned to ice before receiving a layer of snow. A Winter Weather Advisory was issued for several areas of Central Ohio until 8 a.m. Thursday.

Meteorologist said the below-freezing temperatures were just the beginning of a cold start to the weekend. Friday's highs are in the teens.

Many schools were forced to delay Thursday because of the ice and snow including Chillicothe City, Heath City, Maysville Local, Ridgedale Local and Washington Court House City. Full list here.

Crews were seen around Central Ohio to clear the roads. Drivers will want to take it easy as they head to work or school.
