Multiple law enforcement agencies investigate deputy-involved shooting in Pike County
Multiple law enforcement agencies are looking into a deputy-involved shooting in Pike County.
Franklin County SWAT was requested for assistance regarding a standoff Wednesday afternoon, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Franklin County authorities were involved in the situation that led to the deputy-involved shooting, but it remains unclear if any deputies themselves opened fire, the spokesperson added.
According to Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader, investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation have taken over the investigation in which no deputies were injured. He added more information will be made available as the investigation is ongoing.
