COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — A teen boy is dead after shots were fired at a north Columbus apartment complex late Tuesday.

The shooting happened at Mallard's Landing Apartments just before midnight.

Columbus Police said a 17-year-old Erique D. Forney Jr. was found lying in the road in front of the apartment complex.

This was the 18th homicide in Columbus this year. Investigators say 17-year-old Joseph Jewell pulled the trigger. He was killed in a shootout with officers on Thursday, Feb. 20.
