Columbus Police have arrested two suspects charged for the murder of a young couple, including a pregnant woman, on New Year's Day.

Two weeks after charges were filed against 19-year-old Christian Daequen Dillion and 18-year-old Mario Marshawn Wade, both of whom are in custody.

Columbus Police Patrol Officers said they caught both suspects after a car they were riding in was stopped near Eakin Road. The pair attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly caught and arrested without incident by additional responding officers.

They're accused of killing 23-year-old Keith Brian Williams III and 21-year-old Marlazia Jones-Mattox in the 600 block of South Hague Avenue early January 1. A 15-year-old boy was also severely injured. Police said he sustained "severe permanent injuries." He has yet to speak to police due to his drastic injuries.

Police said Jones-Mattox was 35 weeks pregnant at the time of the shooting. Doctors were able to save the baby boy, who was named Markeith, after his parents.

These were the second and third murders in Columbus this year.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS.
