Viewers ensure Lancaster family has Merry Christmas after vandals wreck decorations
LANCASTER, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Once again folks in Central Ohio proved they have hearts of gold
A week after ABC 6/FOX 28 reported on a Lancaster family who’s holiday season was nearly ruined by vandals, viewers stepped up to ensure this Christmas is merry for a family that truly needs it.
“I’m honestly speechless. I didn't know. I didn’t expect it. I’m just really happy,” said David Cleland.
Last week, holiday lights put together for Cleland's baby son Andrew were ripped from their Lancaster home. It was a loss he couldn't afford to replace.
That's when ABC 6/FOX 28 viewers jumped into action, getting gifts for the entire family.
“There’s just still some good people in this world,” said Idra Cleland.
Those who gave to help the family did not want to identified. Instead they said it’s about giving back, not getting credit.
“It’s really great! It’s really awesome and I want to say thank you. I don’t know who you are or where you’re at, but thanks everybody for helping my family and my son have a great Christmas,” said Cleland.
