Winter Weather Advisory in effect for parts of Central Ohio

    Snow showers and a wintry mix have arrived in Central Ohio. Meteorologist Rachael Penton gives her forecast for Sunday, February 10, as well as the upcoming week:

    • A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect tonight for parts of Central Ohio. Accumulating snow and occasional freezing rain will lead to slippery conditions.
    • An Areal Flood Watch is in effect for parts of central Ohio from Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon, with 1.5-2.5" of rain possible.

    Areas along and north of I-70 can expect to see 1-2" of snow accumulation, but some areas to the north may see up to 3.0" through tonight. Lower amounts can be expected south of I-70, where there is more of a wintry mix. As warmer air begins to work in tonight we'll see snow transition to a wintry mix through the overnight hours.

    There may be some lingering wintry mix and icy spots early Monday morning, but precipitation changes over to rain as a warm front lifts in.

    We'll see rain Monday and Tuesday, which could be heavy at times. A Flood Watch has been issued for parts of central Ohio, with 1.5-2.5" of rain expected through Tuesday.

    Rain changes over to snow Tuesday night as a cold front sweeps through, with some lingering snow showers and flurries into Wednesday morning.

    TONIGHT: snow and wintry mix.

    MONDAY: wintry mix possible early, then rain. High 40.

    TUESDAY: rain, heavy at times, changing to snow late. Windy. High 52.

    WEDNESDAY: scattered snow and flurries early. Breezy. High 38.

    THURSDAY: mostly cloudy. High 47.

    FRIDAY: rain, changing to mix and snow late.

    SATURDAY: scattered snow. High 34.
