Woman's body found in trash bag on rural Licking County road
Investigators are trying to determine how a woman died after her body was found stuffed in a trash bag and tossed alongside a creek in Licking County.
A passerby spotted the bag and discovered the body Monday night on Licking Trails Road, in a rural area that doesn't get a lot of traffic.
He immediately called 911.
The Licking County Coroner is conducting an autopsy on the body of a woman found stuffed in a trash bag and tossed along side of a creek.
“I’m scared, I'm shaking and don’t know what to do,” he told dispatchers.
The victim was identified as Sydney Bryson, 30. Deputies said that while the circumstances are bizarre, they found no obvious trauma to the body so far. The Licking County coroner is now doing an autopsy, and toxicology tests are pending.
Chief Deputy Chad Dennis said he's urging the person who dumped the body to come forward.
“People get scared for whatever reason, something like this is tragic," said Dennis. "Obviously there are different ways to handle situations. We need to know exactly what happened to her.”
“It could have been any one of our kids you know, grandkids or something. I am sure they will get to the bottom of it," Tom Kammer said at the nearby R Carryout. “I have spoken to several people (who've) come in the store and they are a little edgy. They say it’s too close to home,” said Kammer.
Deputy say they have no suspects at this time but will continue to talk with witnesses.
