Court documents: Man struck pregnant girlfriend, injected her with drugs

A Charleston, West Virginia man is facing charges after court documents say he struck his pregnant girlfriend with a baseball bat and injected her with drugs.

Kyle Wilson Stowers, 21 of Charleston, is charged with malicious wounding (assault).

According to a criminal complaint, Stowers hit his girlfriend multiple times in the head, face and torso, on Dec. 21, causing bruises, lacerations, swelling and severe pain. The incident took place inside a Charleston residence.

The victim told police Stowers also struck her with a wooden baseball bat in the legs and unwillingly injected methamphetamine in her in her right arm.

The victim is 37 weeks pregnant, according to the complaint. She told police Stowers “left her for dead” at the residence and fled the scene.

Stowers is being held at the South Central Regional Jail with a $10,000 cash-only bond.
