Florida teen accused of throwing boiling water on roommate

    RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) - A teen is accused of throwing boiling water on his roommate during a fight at their home.

    Police arrested Joshua Robinson III, 18, on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, simple battery and resisting an officer without violence.

    Police said he got into a fight with his roommate at their Riviera Beach home on Wednesday afternoon. It was over a girl from school. Robinson and his roommate went to Indian Ridge High School, according to the arrest report.

    Investigators said Robinson chased his roommate into the yard and thew a pot of boiling water on him. The hot water caused blisters to form on the roommate's arm, police said. After the water attack, the roommate ran inside and locked himself in the bathroom. Police said Robinson smashed through a glass window in the living room before trying to break down the door of the bathroom.

    Robinson and the roommate went to St. Mary's Medical Center to be evaluated for their injuries. He remains at the Palm Beach County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

    The teens lived in a home for children who've aged out of the foster care system, the owner told police.
