WASHINGTON (WJLA) - President Donald Trump tweeted support for Republican Senate candidate and accused child molester Roy Moore Monday morning, stating in part, "Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama."

The president went on to say that Republicans need Moore to win because of his stand on "crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more."

Alabama's Moore is running against Democrat Doug Jones, who President Trump referred to as "a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet!" in Monday morning's tweet.

In a second tweet about 45 minutes later, Trump said Jones would "hurt our great Republican Agenda of low on taxes, tough on crime, strong on military and borders...& so much more."

Moore remains under fire following multiple accusations of sexual misconduct, which he has repeatedly denied.
