Cooler temps, music, and more in store for Columbus this weekend

After nearly a week oppressive heat and humidity, cooler temperatures are expected to make it a wonderful weekend to enjoy outdoor activities.

"So long to the 90s! We had 6 straight days in the 90s and today we will struggle to warm to 80," Meteoroligst Andrew Buck Michael said " We will stay mostly sunny for the weekend. Humidity stays low for the weekend. "

Columbus Zoo & Aquarium "Military Members Free Dayz" (Friday July 6 -Sunday July 8)

Current or former military members, along with their family members, get free admission to the zoo and discounted rates for Zoombezi Bay ( $25.99/per adult and $23.99/per child/senior) Parking is $10.

Short North Gallery Hop (Saturday July 7 , 4 pm- 10 pm)

Thousands of people are expected along s High Street in the Short North Arts District for Gallery Hop! Visitors can experience art new gallery exhibitions, street performers, special events, food, and drinks.

The Columbus Symphony's Picnic with the Pops (Saturday July 7, 8 pm)

Experience "The Music of Billy Joel" as Tony-nominated singer/song-writer Michael Cavanaugh joins the symphony at the Columbus Commons. Cavanaugh’s show features hits like “My Life,” “Movin’ Out,” “Just the Way You Are,” and “River of Dreams.”
