More complaints rack up against Dublin bridal shop

DUBLIN, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Brides continue to come forward with complaints about a Dublin bridal shop.

We first told you about issues with The Elegant Bride in December and again this week. Now, brides said they are contacting their credit card companies to dispute the charges.

ABC 6/FOX 28 went back to the bridal shop. The shop was dark and locked, but now there are trash bags covering the windows and the merchandise in the hallway was gone.

"I am very overwhelmed and I can't even describe my feelings," said bride Janae Price.

Price said she bought her dress in October for her August 2018 wedding.

"I never got a call, an email or anything, so I came today to see what was going on, and no one is here," she said in front of the shop.

ABC 6/FOX 28 also talked to another bride, who's fiancé reached out about the issue.

"I was actually spending money that was left from my deceased mother, so I'm trying to stay positive," said bride Julie Jacobs.

Jacobs is working with another shop to get answers.

"Luckily talked with another Dublin bridal shop called Wendy's Bridal and they have been awesome with helping me research and solve the problem they've connected me with a representative from the designer," she said.

The Attorney General's Office said since 2015 they have received six complaints from different people about The Elegant Bride. The Better Business Bureau has a rating of "F" for the shop online.

Another bride said she has contacted the manufacturer, who said it will ship the dress to a different shop. That bride said the manufacturer recommended filing a fraud complaint, and to be prepared to pay for the dress in full.
