Elderly couple found with 60 pounds of marijuana; says it was for Christmas presents
A Nebraska Police Officer found 60 pounds of marijuana in an elderly couple's car during a traffic stop.
According to police, 83-year-old Patrick Jiron and his 80-year-old wife, Barbara Jiron, were pulled over in York, Nebraska. During the stop, officers smelled the marijuana and the couple admitted they were carrying contraband. The couple said they planned to "distribute the marijuana to family and friends as Christmas gifts"
The officers found cannabis and several containers of concentrated T-H-C. The couple was cited on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and for not having a drug tax stamp.
The marijuana has an estimated street value of over $300,000.
