COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Less than a week into the job and Ohio State men's basketball coach Chris Holtmann has already disciplined one of his players.

Holtman suspended redshirt freshman forward Derek Funderburk Thursday for "failure to meet team expectations." It remains unclear what specific expectation Funderburk violated or the length of the suspension.

The Lakewood, Ohio, native played his senior year of high school at Hargrave Military Academy.

He redshirted in 2016-17 at Ohio State and has four years of eligibility remaining.
