Big inning pushes Buffalo past Clippers

Buffalo scored four runs in the sixth inning and rode strong pitching from former Clipper T.J. House for a 5-0 win over Columbus on Saturday in Buffalo.

The Bison (10-4) scored a run in the second off Clippers ace Mike Clevinger, then tagged the Columbus bullpen for four in the sixth.

Columbus (7-9) collected six hits -- a double from Giovanny Urshela and singles from Yandy Diaz, Tyler Naquin, Chris Colabello, Richie Shaffer and Ronny Rodriguez.

Clevinger was lifted after 4 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked two. For Buffalo, former Clipper House fanned eight without a walk over 5 1/3 innings.

The series ends at 1 p.m. Sunday in Buffalo, then the Clippers come back to Columbus for a six-game homestand.
