Golf by Grimmer ready for second U.S. Open try at Shinnecock Hills
COLUMBUS -- Will Grimmer is set to take on the games best as he tees it up this week at the 118th US Open at Shinnecock Hills.
He opens play Thursday afternoon at 2:31 p.m. off the first tee. His second round starts Friday morning at 8:46 a.m. off the back nine. He is paired with Cameron Wilson and fellow amateur Philip Barbaree. "I think I'm more ready to handle the circumstances and really hope I can make the cut and stay around for the weekend," Grimmer told ABC-6.
This is Grimmer's second US Open as he also qualified for the 2014 US Open at Pinehurst as a 17-year old. He spoke last week about winning the Sectional Qualifier in Springfield, the difference in mindsets from 2014 to this year and what he is most excited about this week.
