The Football Fever: Meyer bestows "legendary status" to senior captain Billy Price

COLUMBUS -- After the Buckeyes had survived a week of second-guessing from fans and media alike and taken Michigan State to task, Head Coach Urban Meyer made sure to credit senior captain Billy Price.

"As long as I am here I will make sure he is treated with legendary status," Meyer told reporters postgame Saturday night. "He's done everything I've ever asked him to do. He was the one who stood after Iowa and said this is where we're headed. People ask me what did you say and I didn't say anything, Billy said it."

Price moved from guard to center in the offseason and has been source of strength and stability during the up and down 2017 season. He set a school record Saturday with his 51st straight start against MSU, breaking Luke Fickell's mark of 50 consecutive starts.

"I just tried to tell guys we stay together, we don't point fingers and just keep moving in the right direction," Price explained following Saturday's bounce-back 48-3 domination of the Spartans.

As a result of the win, Ohio State climbed to 8th in both major polls Sunday and host heavy underdog Illinois Saturday Nov. 18th at 3:30 on ABC-6.
