The Football Fever: Meyer compliments all three quarterback contestants
COLUMBUS -- Joe Burrow had the best scrimmage last week but Dwayne Haskins came back in subsequent practices to impress. Young buck Tate Martell is said to have an incredible skill set says Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. "There is some conversation about that (Tate's game) because he is a gifted guy."
The Buckeyes completed the ninth of 15 spring practices Monday as Meyer said he no longer feels a void at quarterback as he did early in spring ball but "as far as a leader or separation we don't have that." He declined to say if he might have a starter by the completion of spring camp. "I'm just trying to get to practice 10."
Meyer also discussed the situation at middle linebacker as late-season starter Tuf Borland is out with an achilles injury. Meyer indicated Borland could return by September. "We have moved Malik Harrison to will linebacker and Keandre Jones to sam. Those guys are really getting better. Baron Browning graded out a champion in our scrimmage. Justin Hilliard was honorable mention and Pete Werner graded a champion. Really talented guys."
The Buckeyes Spring game is Saturday April 14th at 1:45.
