Jessica Ralston is an Emmy-winning Anchor/Reporter who is proud to be a part of the ABC6/FOX28 "Good Day Columbus" team. In 2016, during her first year at ABC6, Jessica was honored with an Emmy nomination for Anchoring several hours of breaking news coverage during an attack on OSU's campus.
She was raised in Youngstown, Ohio and is a proud graduate of Youngstown State University. She got her start in news as a Producer at WFMJ-TV21 in Youngstown. Then she moved on to Clarksburg, West Virginia where she worked as an Anchor\Reporter at WDTV, Newschannel 5.
After that, she laid down some roots in Charleston, West Virginia at WSAZ TV-3. Jessica spent 10 years there, working her way up from Reporter to Evening Anchor. During that time, she was honored with 8 EMMY nominations and 4 EMMY awards for her work as an anchor, covering major breaking news.
She was also honored with 36 Associated Press and Broadcaster's awards; including multiple consecutive wins for "Broadcast Journalist of the Year," "Best Anchor", "Best Reporter", "Best Enterprise Reporter", "Best Breaking News Coverage" and "Best Newscast."
She was also deeply connected to the community through a long list of charity\volunteer organizations including the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the YWCA Sojourner's Shelter.
Jessica then left the mountains of West Virginia for the bright lights of "Music City". She moved to Nashville and WTVF Newschannel 5, where she anchored the evening newscasts and hosted a show called "Openline".
While in Nashville, Jessica was nominated for an EMMY for Anchoring 4 hours of live coverage of the "Country Music Marathon." She was also actively involved with the YWCA's fundraising efforts for victims of domestic violence and also worked with "Girl's Inc", a program that mentors girls from the inner city.
While in Music City, "Nashville Scene" magazine featured Jessica as a "Style Setter: One of the city's 10 best-dressed".
When she's not at work Jessica loves to travel the world and spend time with family and friends.
Jessica lives in Columbus with her husband Jimmy and 2 miniature Dachshunds, Ginger and Ellie Mae.
She is passionate about helping victims of crime find justice, issues that affect women/children, and she is an advocate for animals.
